Need to cancel an order? Cancel or make changes to an order

Tap on the order number to see your order details. Then look for the Cancel button next to the item you’d like to cancel.

You can cancel items as long as we haven’t started the shipping process. This is usually within 30 minutes of placing your order. See more time frames below.

If it’s too late to cancel an item, don’t worry. Contact [email protected] to initiate a cancel request or refund request.

The timeframe for canceling an order depends on the delivery method.

Cancellation time has expired. You can return the item by mail. Cancel 2 days or more from street date. Cancel 1 day or more from street date.

Promotions and Canceled Order

If canceling an item means your order is no longer eligible for a promotion or a quantity discount, your order total will be recalculated and credit card charges may apply.

However, if an item from your order is canceled by us for any reason and you have already received your promotional or discounted item, the promotion or discount will remain in effect.Credit Card Authorization

When you place an online order, we authorize your credit card to make sure sufficient credit is available. A hold is placed on funds equal to your order total until the order is fulfilled.

If you cancel an order, the time required to remove the authorization is determined by the financial institution that issued your card. You can reach out to your financial institution for more information.

Authorization Process

An authorization hold will be placed on your credit or debit card when you place an order. An initial authorization is done at time of purchase and is removed and releases the authorization after a few days. Best Buy will then re-authorize that amount 5 days prior to release date. Your account will not actually be billed until your order is shipped, delivered or picked up at the store.

If there’s a problem authorizing your credit or debit card, we’ll email you right away. Keep an eye on your spam folder, in case our emails end up there. If you don’t take action to fix the problem within 24 hours, we’ll cancel the order.

Refunds

When you return an item, your refund amount and refund method may vary. You can check the payment method that was refunded and the status of your refund in Your Orders.

Note: All information on this page only relates to items bought from or Fulfilled by Amazon. Don’t return items to Amazon that were bought on Amazon Marketplace and shipped to you by the seller.

Note: After the carrier has received your item, it can take up to two weeks for us to receive and process your return.

How Refunds Are Issued

When returning an item, you can choose your preferred refund method in the Returns Center.

If you’re receiving a refund after we have received your item, it may take an additional three to five business days to process your return fully and issue your refund.

Once we issue your refund, it may take additional time for your funds to be made available in your account by your financial institution. See the following table for more details.

Note: Refund timing to a prepaid card depends on the issuer of the card. The refund can take up to 30 days to process based on the policy of the issuer. If you no longer have the physical card, the card is still stored within your account. It can be used toward future purchases on the account it’s stored in.
